Watching NBC’s Meet the Press this morning, I’m struck by what an idiot David Gregory is.  While interviewing Chair of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers Dr. Christina Romer, Gregory repeatedly asks about President Obama’s recent comments on the fundamentals of the economy.  Gregory asks repeatedly if this is not the same thing that Senator McCain said during the campaign when he insisted that the fundamentals of our economy are strong.

Here’s the difference, Mr. Gregory:  Senator McCain was running for office pledging to continue the same, failed economic policies of the Bush Administration, the same policies that brought us to where we are today.  President Obama can speak differently because our economic policies have changed, and are in the process of changing more.

You can never step in the same river twice, David.  Senator McCain never understood that.  Everything is changing all the time.  Insistence on any policies over and over again is a roadmap for failure.

Republicans constantly fight all change.

All of our policies are always in need of reform.  Obama understand that change is the only constant.
